HSI (Health and Safety Institute) CPR/AED certification is a training program that teaches how to respond to cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. It covers skills for performing CPR, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), and choking. The certification is valid for two years and is recognized by many employers, regulatory agencies, and licensing boards.

This program includes flexible instructional tools for developing proficiency via demonstration and prompted practice, including scenario-based problem-solving exercises with feedback.

HSI CPR AED reflects the latest resuscitation science and treatment recommendations published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), and it conforms with the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC and the annual Guidelines Update.

Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con) teaches participants basic lifesaving interventions, including bleeding control using tourniquets, gauze and hemostatic agents. The course is designed for non-healthcare professionals including firefighters, security personnel and civilians. This is a 2-hour course.

This course is held at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport Conference Center.

NEW AHA 2020-- GUIDELINES!

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Online Course provides a flexible alternative to classroom-based training.

Part 1 is web-based and accessible 24 hours a day. Through case-based scenarios, interactive activities and videos, this course teaches the concepts of both single-rescuer and team basic life support.

Upon successful completion of Part 1, students receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills practice and testing session. For full course completion, Part 1 must be paired with a hands-on skills practice and testing session (Parts 2 and 3) with an AHA BLS Instructor.

AHA recommends that you purchase a new G2020 BLS student provider manual however you are registered for the Blended Online E-learning Course, so this is not mandatory. If you wish to purchase a new 2020 provider manual you can do so through Worldpoint at Worldpoint purchases  or AHA Shop CPR purchases

Courses are offered at multiple locations. Be sure to check your email confirmation for the location of your requested course.
